What does the recruitment process look like?
Recruitment usually takes place twice during the academic year, at the beginning of each semester (October, March). Often, recruitment is only open to sections currently looking for new members, and you can try to join multiple sections at once. You can find out who we are looking for on our social media. The first step of the recruitment process is filling out the form, which can be found on our social media or here on the website. We ask about your skills, experience, why you are interested in space, and depending on the role you are applying for, you may also be asked to submit your portfolio.
If we positively review your application, which has a good chance, we will want to meet you in person for a recruitment interview. You will meet with a member or members of the section you wish to join. We will ask you a few questions about your experience in relation to the form, have a conversation to get to know each other better, and you will also have the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have.
That's it! After a successful interview, we will invite you to your first section meeting, where we will introduce you to life at AGH Space Systems. You are now officially part of the team, but we start you off with an internship. Don’t worry, during this stage, you are treated equally with other members and work just like everyone else. The rest of the team is eager to offer help and warmly welcome you. The internship lasts a few months, and at the semester’s general meeting, you will find out that you have been promoted to full membership status. Those who need more time to settle in are given additional internship time.
